PVMS First Day Information

Pine View Middle School is excited to welcome our students back for an epic 2017-2018 school year. Mrs. Warren and the rest of the administrative team would like to share some important information with our families so our year starts on a high note!!

Getting Ready in the Morning: Set alarm clocks so the household can address all that needs to be done with enough time to arrive at the student bus stop five-fifteen minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Please use the stop that appears on your student’s schedule you received on orientation day and/or is available on your myStudent account. Students will be permitted on the bus Monday morning. If there is missing bus information, we will work with students during the school day. As well, there is a Transportation helpline (813-794-2500) or you can reference the district webpage and look for the banner titled, Transportation.

Dress Code: Students must dress appropriately in order to not interrupt their learning. The Dress Code is available on our website. In general, all head coverings are prohibited unless for religious or properly documented medical purposes. Leave hats and other coverings at home. They may not be worn or carried by hand. Hoods may not be worn at school. Shirts and tops must cover the torso and sleeves must cup over the shoulder. No tank tops, muscle shirts, tube tops, thin straps, or bare midriff permitted. Pants should fit modestly and not be so tight as to restrict proper movement. Pants must remain secure at the waist. Shorts must not be shorter than 4 inches above the knee. Nothing sheer or see-through is permitted. Wear proper footwear. Please review the entire dress code. The expectation is that all students are dressed for success each day!

Student Arrival and First Period: When students arrive at school Monday, they will look for rosters around the building, on the Panther Pit windows or seek out one of many adults that will be available to assist. Many schedules may have changed over the past few days so that classrooms could be balanced for optimal learning. These rosters will share the student’s last name, first name alphabetically and what room number to go to for first period. Students will receive a bright pink colored schedule in 1st period and that is the one they must follow. Keep the other paper as a receipt for any fees already paid.  School fees, spirit gear, PE uniforms can be paid through the ACORN portal.

Information coming home on Monday: Your student will be given several papers during first period Monday. Please ask to see these.

Car Rider Information– Morning/Afternoon Pickup at School: The first bell will ring at 8:20 am and the start to our school day will be at 8:30 am.  Students may be dropped off as early as 8:10 am.  Our school dismisses at 2:50 pm. Drivers must always follow the instructions of school staff and law enforcement. Parents coming to campus for drop off/pick up are required to wait patiently in the lineup on Parkway Boulevard and the front of the school in the car rider loop.  Do not pull around or cut in front of other waiting vehicles. Do not drive past everyone waiting to get to the front of the line. Do not block driveways or enter the bus access areas and do not drop off or pick up students on Parkway Boulevard. Limiting cell phone activity will assist with safety and the continued movement of this car rider line.  Continue to move forward as the line progresses towards the drop off/pick up area that are marked with cones. Please be patient and observe all safety rules. More information about the car rider loop procedures can be found on our website.  Please note that students may not be dropped off at any time earlier than 8:00 am and must be picked up no later than 3:20 each day.

School Advisory Council (SAC): We are still accepting self-nominations for membership on the SAC. As well, if you are a business partner, we invite you to self-nominate to be a SAC member. Please email Jennifer Warren if interested at jwarren@pasco.k12.fl.us .

Thank you for all you do to help us make learning and safety for our students our top priorities at Pine View Middle School.
